Here you'll find special prices on items in four basic categories: Returned, New, Demo, and Used. Each item is assigned a condition rating, and the rating system is explained in the two tables immediately below. The Clearance Store items are listed further down the page. These items are mostly "quantity-of-one," so we ask that you order them by phone (not mail) because we don't want your order to arrive after someone else has purchased the item. (You can use a credit card by phone, or we will hold an item for 1 week if you want to send a check or money order after calling.) Clearance Store items cannot be ordered through the online shopping cart system.

Expanded Ratings Descriptions With Examples
R1
 Close scrutiny is required to tell that the item isn’t brand new. Carton may be torn. Bottom-inside of a Bosch mixer bowl may show swirl marks because Bosch mixer whips are designed to “float” against bottom of bowl. Non-working surfaces (cabinet, control panel) look essentially new.
R2
 Typically has a small scuff or scratch on a non-working surface like a mixer body or the top of a pressure cooker lid.
R3
 Like R2 except moderate scuff/s or scratch/es on non-working surfaces.
FR
 Mostly returned units which have been brought fully up to new-equipment performance specs at the factory.
N
 New items offered at discount usually are items discontinued by us or by the manufacturer, but they do have full manufacturer’s warranty.
D
 Demonstration items have been used briefly at Pleasant Hill Grain.
U
 Used equipment. Has no manufacturer’s warranty but you do still have 30 day return privilege. Used items are offered only if they are functionally perfect now (or noted otherwise.) But if the unit malfunctions after 30 days, it is nonreturnable.
Bottom Line: If you’re a highly detail-oriented person, we recommend sticking to “R1 or New.” But for most people, after a week’s use, the only difference between one of these items and a brand new one, will be the extra dollars you saved. So check out the deals below!
