The Torrey meat grinder and meat saw that I purchased are really outstanding products. I am used to the Cabela's(TM) models and with those grinders, I would always have to stop the machine every few minutes or so and clean out the auger area. I put an 8" wide, 1-1/2" thick and 20" long piece of roast down the M32 auger throat and that grinder chewed it up and spit it out like nobody's business! You will see that the grinding rate for the 2 HP model R2 is very similar to the 1 HP model R1, below. This is because both have the same size throat and grinding plate. The R2 is preferred for for grinding especially tough materials such as game meat and whole chickens including the bones, where the extra horsepower is advantageous. For larger animals, with any grinder, all bone must be removed.

Maverick's new MM 5501 grinder offers speed, toughness and attractive design!

Grind Fast: Maverick's MM5501 uses a new 575 watt motor to grind over 23 pounds of meat in only 10 minutes! Runs quieter than other grinders, for comfortable use. Can be operated continuously. Motor has reversing switch.

Three Grinding Plates are included with the Maverick MM 5501. Precision manufactured, high-carbon steel plates and knives thoroughly grind all types of meat, cheese, vegetables or nuts. Stomper is included. Sausage stuffer tube and spacer are also included.

Big #8 Dies: for easy, fast feeding of all kinds of food. Large #8-diameter plates measure 2-7/16" across, over 30% larger than most grinders in this class. Three cutting plates are included: 1/8" (fine), 3/16" (medium) and 5/16" (coarse.) The Maverick MM5501 grinds more meat in less time than competing grinders. Throat diameter is a generous 1-9/16".

100% Duty Cycle: Means you can grind for hours on end with Maverick meat grinders without the overheating that happens with lesser grinders. The grinder's 8 lb. heft reflects stout construction.

Overload Protection: Easily-replaceable shear inserts are provided, to protect the motor from damage in case of obstruction by bone, etc. If you miss a bone, it won't mean the end of your grinder. Ninety day mfg. warranty for home use.
